Colombia Bird Watching and Biodiversity

Colombia is one of the world's megadiverse countries, home to almost 10% of the planet's biodiversity. It is also the country with the greatest variety of birds on Earth, with nearly 2,000 species, including more than 200 migratory and 80 endemic species.

Colombia is the 2nd most biodiverse country in the world but per square kilometer, the country is the most biodiverse. There are more bird, amphibian, butterfly, and frog species here than anywhere else in the world.

On your tour with us, we will see lots of birds but we also see orchids, butterflies and some of the most beautiful flowering plants in the world. We also have an amazing number of exotic fruits for you to try that you have probably never tasted or even heard of.

Manizales has some other special things to see...we are the sunset capital of the world.. or at least, we are one of them and we also have lots of rainbows (including doubles and even triples) in the afternoon as the showers pass through.

Breakfast everyday in your hotel, lunch during the tour and dinner that evening at one of the top restaurants in Manizales except of the Days of Rest.

Day 1 - Arrive airport (Pereira or Manizales) - pick up and transport to hotel for check in. Welcome Dinner

Day 2 - Rio Blanco Reserva - birds and lunch

Day 3 - Tinamu - birds and lunch

Day 4 - Romelia - Birds in the am, lunch, then orchids tour in the afternoon

Day 5 - Day of rest - on your own for lunch and dinner. 

Day 6 - Termales del Ruiz - birds, relax in the hot springs and lunch and we make a quick trip up to Nevados del Ruiz Páramo Birding.

Day 7  - Hacienda de Bosque - birds and lunch and on the way home we stop by Recinto del Pensamiento - birds, orchids, butterflies

Day 8 - Day of rest - on your own for lunch and dinner. Optional trip to Hacienda Venecia - coffee farm

Day 9 - Ecoparque Alcazars and City Tour. Farewell Dinner and hot springs at Termales el Otoño

Day 10 - Check out of hotel, transport to the airport

Your tour includes breakfast at the hotel every morning, lunch ¨on the road¨ while we are out traveling to our Destinations and then dinner at night at one of the top rated restaurants in Manizales. Lunch and dinner are not included on the two days of rest.  We have selected three dishes at each restaurant for you to choose from.
